Walking Club
This club begins on June 1.Health and wellness can be achieved through a planned walking program. Walking is much easier on the skeletal joints, yet the cardio vascular benefits of walking can equal those of running. Walking also relieves stress and generates a mental "high". Walking is the easiest and most inexpensive in terms of fitness routines. All you need is a supportive pair of walking shoes. The club plans to walk on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month, meeting and leaving from the Center at 9:00 am. Members interest in joining these walks should confirm your attendance by noon on Monday by calling the Center at 336-6722. In case of inclement weather, the club will still meet and walk at either the Empire or the Western Mall. Remember when walking wear layered clothing and bring a bottle of water. Contact Jenny Centra for more information at 333-3306 or jcentra@cfag.org.

The goals of the club are:
1) Provide camaraderie and motivation to walk on a regular basis
2) Provide different walking courses to provide variety
3) Meet other walkers and walking partners
4) Provide educational seminars on fitness, walking techniques, shoes and gear
5) Participate in organized walking events, trips, and social events.
